I am so fortunate to have been guided by Tarik and his team, especially as a first time homebuyer. I was completely unaware of what to expect and although the process was quite stressful, Tarik made it so much less scary. My boyfriend and I were buying out of state and between him retiring from the military in less than a year and me about to start a new job several other lenders were unhelpful about the best way to go about finding a home. Tarik’s communication was absolutely amazing. He truly went above and beyond by helping us locate some lenders in the area that could possibly help us get some things fixed. The loan process itself was fairly straightforward and Tarik’s team made it less intimidating. I will surely recommend him to friends and work with him again should we end up buying or refinancing in the future.

We have purchased and refinanced several homes with Tarik and his team since April 2020 . We continue to apply for loans with Mr. Shahin and his current lending company because of his advocacy, professionalism, approachability, and excellent problem solving skills. When we had encountered significant barriers (construction delays, lacking witnesses in Baton Rouge, spike in the interest rates/points, unreasonable requests by builders), Tarik was at his best making himself available promptly and offered specific and achievable solutions within the same or the next business day. We plan to continue doing business with him and his team for the foreseeable future.

My refi was a long time coming and a complicated on various levels, but Tarik got the job done! Tarik is one of the first loan officers I've worked with who is very familiar with the special considerations of financing and refinancing investment properties. He has his own rental(s?) and makes the calculations about what makes sense from the owner's perspective easily. He also explains it in an easy to understand way. I was confident in Tarik from our first conversation. During the application process, Tarik was even keel, available, and happy to explain the same thing over multiple times. I had one freak out during the process, and Tarik walked me through it again completely to my satisfaction without any defensiveness on his part. Today I am in a better cash flow position with my rental, and it's a relief. In my experience, Tarik's knowledge and service were impeccable.
